With the house facade complete and the kids moved out, it was time to refresh the landscape and create a welcoming new outdoor space. For this project, which was awarded as the Best Residential Construction Under $25,000 in 2023, our clients wanted an updated design that tied the entrances together, improved flow from the front doors to the driveway, and introduced fresh plantings.
From there, we took the lead in reimagining the space. We designed a new expanded deck area with subtle low-rise elevations, perfect for future seating and built to meet code without the need for railings. This addition not only added functionality but also introduced a new architectural element to the yard.
To open up the space and bring in more natural light, we carefully removed an aging tree that had long anchored the landscape. This made way for a brighter, more usable space with new foundation plantings positioned further from the eaves for better growth and balance.
The transformation was completed with a curved, inviting walkway that guides visitors from the front door to the driveway, a feature that both enhances curb appeal and naturally draws you in with its “walk this way” charm.
